Just when anticipation for November’s release of New Moon didn’t seem like it could get any higher, the new footage presented by the stars of the film at Comic-Con sent the crowded room of Twilighters into a whole new level of vampire frenzy.
As soon as the “Twilight” portion of Summit Entertainment’s panel began, fans started screaming and it didn’t stop once director Chris Weitz was joined onstage by Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson. The room of mostly female fans erupted into deafening screams when Lautner and Pattinson entered, with dozens of them yelling, “I love you, Rob!” or “I love you, Taylor!” As the stars were asked about the filming of the movie, Lautner talked about how important his character’s various transformations were to the way he approached the role. “Jacob goes through a lot in this movie — he transforms mentally and emotionally,” Lautner explained. “The most challenging for me was physically, so I had a lot of hard work cut out for me after filming ‘Twilight.’ I worked really hard to transform Jacob’s body so I could portray him correctly for all you guys. And I hope you guys are pleased when you see the results.” Pattinson, on the other hand, joked that he didn’t have to do a lot of preparation for the scenes where he is a hallucination of Bella’s imagination. “Chris and the special-effects team designed a thing that basically allowed me to stand on a green box and look and stay basically expressionless,” he laughed. Because she loses Edward in “New Moon,” Bella is almost insane afterward. But Stewart said she thinks most people can identify with the experience in some way. “I don’t think you really truly know yourself unless you get to a point that’s as low as she gets in this,” she said. Stewart said it was difficult for her to play the role of Bella in this movie because it was so emotional, but credited Weitz for helping her get through the experience. “Chris is sort of the perfect guy to have done this. In the first one [with director] Catherine [Hardwicke] … everything was impulsive and natural and fast,” she said. “And in this case, we had more time to think … it was a little more cerebral. And considering what I had to go through in the movie, he’s one of the most compassionate, considerate people I’ve ever met. He made it so easy.” Weitz shared two sets of footage from the film, and both Jacob’s transformation and Bella’s hallucination were the subject of the first scene shown. Readers will remember the scene from the book when Jacob helps Bella ride her rebuilt motorcycle for the first time. The footage made it clear that if fans thought there was a lot of sexual tension between Pattinson and Stewart in Twilight, they’re going to see even more of it when Lautner’s character begins his transformation into Bella’s best friend.
In the footage, Bella gets on the motorcycle and then looks in Jacob’s eyes as he puts his hands on hers. Once she starts the bike, she begins to see Edward as a vision, telling her to stop as she rides it defiantly. She ends up falling and after Jacob rushes to her side, he sees the blood on her forehead.
The entire room of “Twilight” fans erupted in shrieks as the scene then showed Jacob removing his shirt to stop the bleeding. As Jacob treats her wound, Bella looks up at him and says, “You sure are beautiful.”
Jacob smiles and shakes his head. “How hard did you hit your head?”
The second set of footage also got screams of approval. A fan favorite from the books, it was the scene in Italy where Alice drives Bella to save Edward from an act of desperation. After riding in the yellow Porsche so familiar to “Twilight” fans, Bella runs from the car through a crowded celebration, running through the town square’s fountain when she sees Edward removing his shirt and stepping into the sun.
“Stop! Stop!” she yells. “Edward! Don’t!”
After the footage was shown, Weitz revealed a few surprises of his own. During the making of the film, Stewart twisted her ankle. And one line in the film is delivered by Jacob — in the Quileute language.
“I’m excited for you guys to hear it,” Lautner said. “It’s kind of fun.”
The director also told the audience that there is a lot more CGI and intense action in “New Moon” than there was in the first movie.
“And Taylor did every single stunt that he could possibly get his hands on. Every stunt except the ones that the insurance company said he wasn’t allowed to do,” Weitz said. “Really, if Jacob is doing something impressive in the film, it’s pretty much Taylor doing it.
“And Rob just kind of stood there looking good, basically,” the director joked to another round of screams from fans.
During the question-and-answer period, Pattinson and Stewart both alluded to all the attention they’ve been getting from fans and the media. When one fan asked the stars how they’ve grown since doing “Twilight,” Pattinson used what he called “a bad analogy” for the change he’s experienced since becoming so well-known.
“You just walk down the street and you just step on a stone,” he said in his British accent, reaching nervously for his hair. “And you’re just trying not to drown afterward. That’s my life.”
When another fan asked what each of the panel members were looking forward to filming in future movies, Stewart leaned forward and said, “I can’t wait to actually get pregnant,” she said with a laugh, alluding to not only Bella’s future pregnancy, but also the fact that one Australian tabloid ran a story saying she was pregnant with Pattinson’s child. The crowd knew what she meant and cheered in support.
Greene said she’s looking forward to working with director David Slade, who is slated to direct “Eclipse,” which starts filming next month. “I’m excited about this whole intense fight scene we’re supposed to have,” she said.
Lautner said he’s excited for the love triangle that builds in “Eclipse.” “And when me and this guy,” he said, pointing toward Pattinson beside him, “have to try to become friends to protect Bella.”
After the crowd yelled in support, Lautner admitted, “The sleeping bag scene! The sleeping bag scene! Yes!”
Weitz and the cast all acknowledged the fans several times, with Weitz saying it was a transformative experience for him professionally. “It’s been a tremendously rejuvenating process to me,” he said. “I remember now how fun it is to make a film.”
Romance is apparently blossoming on set of vampire sequel ‘New Moon’, not just between characters Edward Cullen – played by Pattinson (22) – and Bella Swan – played by Kristen Stewart – but between the sexy brit and another co-star, 20-year-old Nikki Reed. The pair are apparently inseparable on set and are often spotted chatting with their heads bent close together. Nikki obviously doesn’t have a problem with the hunk’s lack of personal hygiene! They were seen out to dinner in Vancouver, along with Kristen Stewart and her long-term boyfriend Michael Angarano, before walking back to Robert’s place with their arms wrapped round each other. Stunning Nikki, who plays Edward Cullen’s sister Rosalie in the vampire flicks, reportedly stayed the night and was meant to be in LA the next day but never showed up. The actress has always had a soft spot for the handsome Brit. According to ‘showbizspy.com’, she said: “He’s really talented, he’s really smart, he’s really musical, he’s an intellectual, he reads. I don’t know if anyone necessarily even knows him… that side of him.”
Seeing Kristen Stewart and her visiting boyfriend, Michael Angarano, walking hand in hand near the New Moon set in Vancouver might be a little disheartening to fans hoping for a real-life romance between the actress and her costar Robert Pattinson. Yet despite such wishful thinking on the part of many Twi-hards, Stewart insists it hasn’t affected her relationship with Angarano, telling USA Today that he’s “totally not a threatened guy.” Of course, the nonexistence of an offscreen love affair between the Twilight stars does keep the fantasy alive for millions of girls longing to one day find themselves in the comfort of Edward’s, er, Pattinson’s embrace. “They covet him,” says Stewart. “I think half of them are so jealous that they hate me.” Now there’s an understatement if we ever heard one.

According to “Superbad” writer/director Greg Mottola, he designed his follow-up film “Adventureland” with the hope that it would play like a great pop song. His stars say they can see the comparison. “It’s very emotional,” Kristen Stewart said. “It’s got a thumping heartbeat at the core of it, and it’s got rhythm.” “And the movie is only three minutes long,” co-star Jesse Eisenberg teased. “I don’t know if I would use that example necessarily,” Ryan Reynolds countered. “I feel like it plays a lot like some of the greatest ’80s movies that I loved. I mean the ‘Say Anything … ‘s — that Cameron Crowe wheelhouse.” Those movies, however, were always driven by an unforgettable soundtrack (it’s no coincidence that “Adventureland” and “Say Anything … ” feature songs by the Replacements); an ’80s setting (“Adventureland” is loosely based on Mottola’s youth); and a sweet-but-pathetic central character, played by Eisenberg but owing a debt to John Cusack’s Lloyd Dobler. “There’s so many different elements — it’s dramatic, it’s funny, it also feels like this one complete experience,” Eisenberg said of “Adventureland,” which casts the three actors as a love triangle working miserable jobs at a low-rent amusement park. “The movie is very consistent, even though there’s all these different elements. So maybe that is kind of similar to a pop song.” At least Reynolds can speak from experience. “I look back at the ’80s, and it’s, like, really sketchy fashion choices,” the 32-year-old actor laughed, thinking about his love scenes with the 18-year-old Stewart. “She looks back at the ’80s as exiting the birth canal. Diligently at work on their new movie, Kristen Stewart teamed up with Taylor Lautner to film scenes for “New Moon” in Vancouver on Tuesday (March 31). The superstar pair stood side-by-side to start things off, with Kristen then filming a few action scenes during a solo shoot to cap off the day. Meanwhile, Kristen and Taylor’s co-star, Nikki Reed, took her turn on the set the previous day, looking in high spirits as she wandered about the set.
“New Moon” is the much-anticipated sequel to “Twilight,” with a theatrical release date set for November 20, 2009.
Late Tuesday night, mere hours before it was officially April Fools’ Day, blogs started to report that Robert Pattinson wouldn’t appear in “Twilight” sequel “New Moon.” All the sites had different reasons for RPattz’s exit from the film. PopSugar reported that he wanted out due to all the fan frenzy surrounding him and that he hoped to stick to smaller films in the future. The blog also said Taylor Lautner would assume the role of Edward Cullen. “Enraged fans have already started sending costume vampire teeth to Robert as a plea to get him back,” the post read. “But it looks like he’s sticking to his decision.” Meanwhile, ScreenRant.com reported that the “production of ‘New Moon’ has shut down due to a dispute on the set,” adding, “It seems that star Robert Pattinson has been butting heads with director Chris Weitz over not only script decisions, but apparent favoritism towards cast newcomer Dakota Fanning. Fanning has a much more established acting pedigree than Robert Pattinson, and according to reports, he’s pretty torqued about the difference in treatment on the set.” The site also had a new Edward Cullen lined up: Zac Efron. “Apparently the director and producers were impressed by Zac Efron’s performance in another teen-targeted film: ‘High School Musical,’ ” the post read. “They think Efron could be a good fit, and maybe even better than Robert Pattinson in the role and for the box office of future ‘Twilight’ films.”
For Twilight movie fans who are anxiously awaiting the sequel but haven’t read the second book in the vampire series, New Moon, the film’s star Robert Pattinson offers this advice — be ready for something different and perhaps a little strange. Pattinson became an overnight sensation playing a lovestruck vampire in the smash hit that sucked $373.4 million from global box offices, and he is in Vancouver this week starting production on the film version of New Moon. But for now his turn as immortal vampire Edward Cullen, who falls in love with high school girl Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) in Twilight, has catapulted him to fame and his fans are dying for details on New Moon. Pattinson, for one, is cautious. “The book of New Moon, the majority of it is incredibly depressing,” Pattinson said. “Obviously Twilight was about finding first love and the difficulties of that, but New Moon is really about loss and reconciliation, but the reconciliation isn’t completely full. It’s a strange story to have for a market that, I guess, wants to see a love story. “Nevertheless, the London-born Pattinson said everyone involved is working to make New Moon as big a success as Twilight.

The news that she will not be joining the cast will likely disappoint her good friend, and rumored boyfriend, Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen. If you haven’t heard of Seear, don’t feel bad. Known for her “pout and cheekbones” according to New York Magazine, the Canadian model was styled as the Mona Lisa for Yves Saint Laurent’s 1998 ad campaign. Her runway and advertising credits include Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Vera Wang and Pantene Pro-V. She has also been featured in such heavy-hitters as Cosmopolitan and Vanity Fair. As legions of “Twilight” fans no doubt already know, the vampire Edward Cullen leaves behind his town—and his true love, Bella—at the beginning of “New Moon.” That’s some heavy stuff, so it’s no surprise that the actress who plays Bella views the second book as considerably more harsh than the first one. “It’s a struggle,” Kristen Stewart told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s almost lower-key, almost depressing. It’s more tragic this time around. It’s not as sunshine and roses.” That’s not to say the original movie was some G-rated, feel-good popcorn flick. After all, Edward and Bella had to fight off blood-thirsty vampires throughout the film, and Ms. Swan eventually wound up in the hospital after a nasty bite. But a vampire noshing on your flesh is nothing compared to being left behind by your true love. “[Bella] loses him, which is certainly a crazy concept for me to accept because that’s the basis for the entire first movie,” Stewart said. Losing Edward means Bella dives into the troubling world of werewolves with her friend Jacob Black. But that adversity seems to be an opportunity for the teenage character to mature. “She grows up quite a bit,” the 18-year-old actress said. “She’s forced to, and she’s got strength and inner determination. A lot of people in her situation would be like, ‘OK, done.’” While Bella is beset by challenges throughout “New Moon,” Stewart believes that with “Twilight” under her belt, making the second movie will be, if not easier, than certainly a fresh experience. “The beginning is different,” she said. “Pre-production is different. I’m not trying to make something. It’s already there, just going back into it. Different. It’s just a continuation.” The continuation, of course, has already began. Filming is underway in Vancouver and the cast grows almost every day. The latest additions are Canadian model Noot Seear (who will play Heidi) and British actor Jamie Campbell-Bower (who will play Caius). “It’s a different movie,” says Stewart, “but a lot happens.”

That said, she had deets to offer:“I’m so excited because the story is scaled down a little bit. [Edward] leaves her, and that’s sort of what the entire first movie is based on,” K.S. semi-enthused. So if you take that away, there is still a story, which I think is impressive.” Holy smokes, Twi-Twits! Canadian Actor: Bronson Pelletier lands on New Moon
There may be many rumors about who is still going to be cast in “New Moon,” but now there seems to be some definite casting news to report. Canadian actor Bronson Pelletier, best known for his work in shows like “Renagadepress” and “Dinosapien,” has signed on for an as-yet-unknown role in “New Moon.” “Congratulations to Bronson who scores a lead role in the highly anticipated ‘Twilight’ feature film sequel ‘New Moon,’” a note on the Web site for the actor’s reps, Carrier Talent Management, reads, reports Access Hollywood. “It’s rumored he will be co-starring with Dakota Fanning.” Bronson’s role has not yet been confirmed by Summit, and it hasn’t yet been confirmed if he’ll play a vampire, werewolf or human. But, his Native American background may suggest that he’ll be playing one of the werewolves of the Quileute tribe. His heritage falls in the Plains Cree tribe of the Askinootow First Nations. Meanwhile yesterday Vanessa Hudgens continued to fuel speculation that she’d be joining the world of Twilight as Leah Clearwater in one of the upcoming films. “It’s still a rumor; I’m really interested,” she told “Extra.” “I think it’s a great project, but nothing’s happening as of now.” Hudgens also told “Extra” that she’s a fan of the book series. “Yes, love it,” she said. “My sister has read all of the books too.”

One of today’s most recognized guys in the world right now is Robert Pattinson which made an appearance at the 81st Academy Awards on Sunday, February 22, 2009 which was aired by ABC Network Live from Hollywood. What most people asked was: Why isn’t Kristen there with Robert? Well her dad commented that “she will present at the Oscars when she has done a great movie, not one that just sold a lot and made a lot of money”. You see last year’s Oscars were on of the lowest ratings the Oscar’s have ever had. So this year they brought people that are very recognized such as cast from High School Musical, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, which they even performed a song. What people forget about Awards such as Golden Globes, Emmy’s and..yes…The Oscars, is that even though it’s recognizing the best performance for that year and hard work from the production crew all the way to the post-production crew. It all comes down that it is a business and because it’s a business, it has to revenue. That is why a lot of actors which I don’t personally know Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson but you can tell that they don’t really like the whole PR part of the business. You see back 20 or 40 years ago, they were still movie stars but the people that were in it was because of their love towards performing not just for the money. Now of course you have to eat and sustain your self but you really don’t need 100 million in your account because you might not even use it all, now it’s good to have but not necessary. Actors like Kristen Stewart are the only reason why Showbiz is such a good business and that’s why a lot of her movies have had great performances made by her. Now, a lot of her movies have also been only to Festivals which stay within the industry but you realize that she really loves the industry and that’s very strange to find in a young actor as herself. I am not saying that Robert Pattinson or any of the other actors are in it for the money because come one it’s The Oscars but every person, and yes that’s including actors, has their own purpose in what they do, whether it’s entertaining people, trying to change their point of view, touch people in a unique way, the bottom line is that they all have their own purpose and their own goals and they work very very hard to get their and for that they deserve merits. Some actors don’t even want to be famous or an academy award actor. Like some would love to be in that position so please don’t judge any of the actors that participated at the Oscars or lack their of. Taylor Lautner had a hairy situation with his wig inTwilight– and is hoping for a strand of relief in New Moon– Taylor told Teen mag: “When I first heard that I was going to be wearing a wig I was really excited. “I was like “Cool, I have never worn a wig before, this is going to be fun change my look up a bit.” “But then, after the first day of filming I was through with it. It was really itchy, it was always getting in my face! I’d be trying to eat lunch and it’s in my mouth and, yeah, even when were filming the scenes and I’m talking and it’s in my mouth and agh! It was quite the adventure with the wig.” He won’t be wearing the wig much in New Moon. Efron is rumored to be presenting Best Original Song and hitting the stage with his “High School Musical” co-star and real-life girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, E! Onlince reports. Sources told the site that the Disney stars will join Beyonce and host, Hugh Jackman onstage for a musical number directed by “Australia” helmer Baz Luhrman. “Mamma Mia!” stars Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper are also rumored to be participating in the number if their scheduling conflicts are resolved.
The show’s producers have said that for this year’s broadcast they want to shake things up, so lining up a roster of young megastars may be just the formula to do that. Rumors began surfacing on Monday that “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson will present an award. No word yet on what he’ll be presenting or if Kristen Stewart will be by his side.

The blog also said Taylor Lautner would assume the role of Edward Cullen. “Enraged fans have already started sending costume vampire teeth to Robert as a plea to get him back,” the post read. “But it looks like he’s sticking to his decision.” Meanwhile, ScreenRant.com reported that the “production of ‘New Moon’ has shut down due to a dispute on the set,” adding, “It seems that star Robert Pattinson has been butting heads with director Chris Weitz over not only script decisions, but apparent favoritism towards cast newcomer Dakota Fanning. Gossip Hound Marc Malkin reports exclusively that filmmakers are considering casting “90210” star AnnaLynne McCord as Heidi in the upcoming “New Moon.” But her part –- that of a seductive “fisher” who brings humans to the Volturi to feed on — isn’t large, so don’t freak out and go all “Oooh Noooo She didn’t”! on us. According to E!, McCord has auditioned for the role. At least, she’d have company on the set. Her “90210” costar Kellan Lutz — and her rumored real life BF — plays Emmett in “Twilight” and will also be in “New Moon.” Coincidence? What do you think? No confirmation from reps or from Summit Entertainment. All we can do for now is wait….. Let’s see what happens!!!
