Just when anticipation for November’s release of New Moon didn’t seem like it could get any higher, the new footage presented by the stars of the film at Comic-Con sent the crowded room of Twilighters into a whole new level of vampire frenzy.
As soon as the “Twilight” portion of Summit Entertainment’s panel began, fans started screaming and it didn’t stop once director Chris Weitz was joined onstage by Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson. The room of mostly female fans erupted into deafening screams when Lautner and Pattinson entered, with dozens of them yelling, “I love you, Rob!” or “I love you, Taylor!” As the stars were asked about the filming of the movie, Lautner talked about how important his character’s various transformations were to the way he approached the role. “Jacob goes through a lot in this movie — he transforms mentally and emotionally,” Lautner explained. “The most challenging for me was physically, so I had a lot of hard work cut out for me after filming ‘Twilight.’ I worked really hard to transform Jacob’s body so I could portray him correctly for all you guys. And I hope you guys are pleased when you see the results.” Pattinson, on the other hand, joked that he didn’t have to do a lot of preparation for the scenes where he is a hallucination of Bella’s imagination. “Chris and the special-effects team designed a thing that basically allowed me to stand on a green box and look and stay basically expressionless,” he laughed. Because she loses Edward in “New Moon,” Bella is almost insane afterward. But Stewart said she thinks most people can identify with the experience in some way. “I don’t think you really truly know yourself unless you get to a point that’s as low as she gets in this,” she said. Stewart said it was difficult for her to play the role of Bella in this movie because it was so emotional, but credited Weitz for helping her get through the experience. “Chris is sort of the perfect guy to have done this. In the first one [with director] Catherine [Hardwicke] … everything was impulsive and natural and fast,” she said. “And in this case, we had more time to think … it was a little more cerebral. And considering what I had to go through in the movie, he’s one of the most compassionate, considerate people I’ve ever met. He made it so easy.” Weitz shared two sets of footage from the film, and both Jacob’s transformation and Bella’s hallucination were the subject of the first scene shown. Readers will remember the scene from the book when Jacob helps Bella ride her rebuilt motorcycle for the first time. The footage made it clear that if fans thought there was a lot of sexual tension between Pattinson and Stewart in Twilight, they’re going to see even more of it when Lautner’s character begins his transformation into Bella’s best friend.
In the footage, Bella gets on the motorcycle and then looks in Jacob’s eyes as he puts his hands on hers. Once she starts the bike, she begins to see Edward as a vision, telling her to stop as she rides it defiantly. She ends up falling and after Jacob rushes to her side, he sees the blood on her forehead.
The entire room of “Twilight” fans erupted in shrieks as the scene then showed Jacob removing his shirt to stop the bleeding. As Jacob treats her wound, Bella looks up at him and says, “You sure are beautiful.”
Jacob smiles and shakes his head. “How hard did you hit your head?”
The second set of footage also got screams of approval. A fan favorite from the books, it was the scene in Italy where Alice drives Bella to save Edward from an act of desperation. After riding in the yellow Porsche so familiar to “Twilight” fans, Bella runs from the car through a crowded celebration, running through the town square’s fountain when she sees Edward removing his shirt and stepping into the sun.
“Stop! Stop!” she yells. “Edward! Don’t!”
After the footage was shown, Weitz revealed a few surprises of his own. During the making of the film, Stewart twisted her ankle. And one line in the film is delivered by Jacob — in the Quileute language.
“I’m excited for you guys to hear it,” Lautner said. “It’s kind of fun.”
The director also told the audience that there is a lot more CGI and intense action in “New Moon” than there was in the first movie.
“And Taylor did every single stunt that he could possibly get his hands on. Every stunt except the ones that the insurance company said he wasn’t allowed to do,” Weitz said. “Really, if Jacob is doing something impressive in the film, it’s pretty much Taylor doing it.
“And Rob just kind of stood there looking good, basically,” the director joked to another round of screams from fans.
During the question-and-answer period, Pattinson and Stewart both alluded to all the attention they’ve been getting from fans and the media. When one fan asked the stars how they’ve grown since doing “Twilight,” Pattinson used what he called “a bad analogy” for the change he’s experienced since becoming so well-known.
“You just walk down the street and you just step on a stone,” he said in his British accent, reaching nervously for his hair. “And you’re just trying not to drown afterward. That’s my life.”
When another fan asked what each of the panel members were looking forward to filming in future movies, Stewart leaned forward and said, “I can’t wait to actually get pregnant,” she said with a laugh, alluding to not only Bella’s future pregnancy, but also the fact that one Australian tabloid ran a story saying she was pregnant with Pattinson’s child. The crowd knew what she meant and cheered in support.
Greene said she’s looking forward to working with director David Slade, who is slated to direct “Eclipse,” which starts filming next month. “I’m excited about this whole intense fight scene we’re supposed to have,” she said.
Lautner said he’s excited for the love triangle that builds in “Eclipse.” “And when me and this guy,” he said, pointing toward Pattinson beside him, “have to try to become friends to protect Bella.”
After the crowd yelled in support, Lautner admitted, “The sleeping bag scene! The sleeping bag scene! Yes!”
Weitz and the cast all acknowledged the fans several times, with Weitz saying it was a transformative experience for him professionally. “It’s been a tremendously rejuvenating process to me,” he said. “I remember now how fun it is to make a film.”
Robert Pattinson’s Twilight character, Edward, may remain a perpetual teenager – but the actor celebrated turning 23 on Wednesday. The star was joined by several of his New Moon castmates, including leading lady Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene and Jamie Campbell Bower at The Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar in Vancouver where they are filming. Pattinson and his pals were treated to champagne cocktails in the the V.I.P. section of the restaurant. They ordered rounds of shooters and feasted on Kobe beef meatballs, lamb, steak, salads and roasted vegetables. “Everyone enjoyed a hearty meal and had a good appetite,” said a source. But it’s wasn’t just a cozy night with friends. Pattison’s location was posted on Twitter, and soon hoards of fans descended on the restaurant trying to get pictures and autographs. “There was a lot of buzz and energy in the restaurant,” said the source. “Being in the same restaurant as Rob Pattinson for his birthday is great.” A fan told PEOPLE: “I was so happy to see Rob and help him celebrate his 23rd birthday. He took the time to meet us and take a picture with us, that was so cool.” After dinner, a platter of desserts was taken to the table where guests could choose between cheesecake, créme brulee, warm chocolate coffee cake and white chocolate mousse. Later, the group made their way to Afterglow, a small bar attached to the restaurant where they had drinks, talked and listened to music until close to 1 a.m.
Kristen Stewart thinks Robert Pattinson, Jackson Rathbone and the rest of the Cullens did a great job in Twilight. She thinks the way they showed their ‘connection’ was great. Kristen told Cinematical.com: “Yeah! They absolutely seemed to portray people that have been together not just for however long a normal family would be together…
“Families don’t always want to be together all the time; (the Cullens) have chosen to be together all the time; it’s different when you choose that, and absolutely I think they portrayed that; It’s something you see that’s so admirable, and you want to be part of it.”
We can’t wait to see the birthday party scene in New Moon and how Jackson goes for Bella. Kristen admitted that the worst part of making a film is doing interviews which we found really funny because she was doing an interview at the time. She was also asked what was the best part. Kristen replied: “Being done. At the beginning of a project, it’s like, so daunting. A lot of people were very celebratory (at the beginning of filming) because they knew that this was gonna be, like, “Oooh, it’s a big movie! We have a built-in fan base! You guys are doing great!” Yeah, but our job is so far from being done. “I’m always incredibly stressed out in the middle of making a movie, and once I’m finished, it’s like “Whew… done.” It’s finished, and I don’t have to stress out about it anymore; it’s a done deal.”
Romance is apparently blossoming on set of vampire sequel ‘New Moon’, not just between characters Edward Cullen – played by Pattinson (22) – and Bella Swan – played by Kristen Stewart – but between the sexy brit and another co-star, 20-year-old Nikki Reed. The pair are apparently inseparable on set and are often spotted chatting with their heads bent close together. Nikki obviously doesn’t have a problem with the hunk’s lack of personal hygiene! They were seen out to dinner in Vancouver, along with Kristen Stewart and her long-term boyfriend Michael Angarano, before walking back to Robert’s place with their arms wrapped round each other. Stunning Nikki, who plays Edward Cullen’s sister Rosalie in the vampire flicks, reportedly stayed the night and was meant to be in LA the next day but never showed up. The actress has always had a soft spot for the handsome Brit. According to ‘showbizspy.com’, she said: “He’s really talented, he’s really smart, he’s really musical, he’s an intellectual, he reads. I don’t know if anyone necessarily even knows him… that side of him.”

Late Tuesday night, mere hours before it was officially April Fools’ Day, blogs started to report that Robert Pattinson wouldn’t appear in “Twilight” sequel “New Moon.” All the sites had different reasons for RPattz’s exit from the film. PopSugar reported that he wanted out due to all the fan frenzy surrounding him and that he hoped to stick to smaller films in the future. The blog also said Taylor Lautner would assume the role of Edward Cullen. “Enraged fans have already started sending costume vampire teeth to Robert as a plea to get him back,” the post read. “But it looks like he’s sticking to his decision.” Meanwhile, ScreenRant.com reported that the “production of ‘New Moon’ has shut down due to a dispute on the set,” adding, “It seems that star Robert Pattinson has been butting heads with director Chris Weitz over not only script decisions, but apparent favoritism towards cast newcomer Dakota Fanning. Fanning has a much more established acting pedigree than Robert Pattinson, and according to reports, he’s pretty torqued about the difference in treatment on the set.” The site also had a new Edward Cullen lined up: Zac Efron. “Apparently the director and producers were impressed by Zac Efron’s performance in another teen-targeted film: ‘High School Musical,’ ” the post read. “They think Efron could be a good fit, and maybe even better than Robert Pattinson in the role and for the box office of future ‘Twilight’ films.”
For Twilight movie fans who are anxiously awaiting the sequel but haven’t read the second book in the vampire series, New Moon, the film’s star Robert Pattinson offers this advice — be ready for something different and perhaps a little strange. Pattinson became an overnight sensation playing a lovestruck vampire in the smash hit that sucked $373.4 million from global box offices, and he is in Vancouver this week starting production on the film version of New Moon. Before that sequel lands in theatres in November, Pattinson plays eccentric painter Salvador Dali in Little Ashes, which opens in art houses May 8 and tells of a homosexual love affair between Dali and the poet Federico Garcia Lorca. But for now his turn as immortal vampire Edward Cullen, who falls in love with high school girl Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) in Twilight, has catapulted him to fame and his fans are dying for details on New Moon. Pattinson, for one, is cautious. “The book of New Moon, the majority of it is incredibly depressing,” Pattinson said. “Obviously Twilight was about finding first love and the difficulties of that, but New Moon is really about loss and reconciliation, but the reconciliation isn’t completely full. That said, she had deets to offer:“I’m so excited because the story is scaled down a little bit. [Edward] leaves her, and that’s sort of what the entire first movie is based on,” K.S. semi-enthused. So if you take that away, there is still a story, which I think is impressive.” Holy smokes, Twi-Twits! Is that a genuine compliment about the Twilight franchise Stewart previously termed “ridiculous”? Maybe. And which costar is Stewart most decidedly unambivalent about seeing again?

For example, if instead of Robert Pattinson playing Edward….another actor would’ve played Edward…then most likely the fans would want those two together…and that’s what the media wants you to believe because that’s when the fans buy the magazines and the publisher makes money that way. Robert Pattinson may have been a bit freaked out about the prospect of presenting at the Oscars, but rumor has it that the “Twilight” star found the perfect way to unwind later Sunday night: by flirting with Natalie Portman. “[Portman] seemed really into him and went right up to say hello once she spotted him,” a Pattinson pal told a source after they were spotted talking to each other at the famed Vanity Fair Oscar Party. The friend added that “whiskey and Natalie Portman” helped the young star deal with his nerves. Although Pattinson and Portman, who could possibly be a closeted Twilighter, were seen chatting it up at the party, Pattinson reportedly went home all by his lonesome (much to the relief of Team Edward members the world over). “It’s insane,” Pattinson said of his Oscar gig on the red carpet, where he also discussed work on the upcoming “Twilight” sequels: “New Moon” and “Eclipse”. “When they first told me about this, I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no, you’re joking — or I’m going to have to do something really stupid like get gunged [slimed]!” The man who is better known as Edward Cullen represented “Twilight” alongside “Mamma Mia!” star Amanda Seyfried, where the duo presented a montage of romantic movies. “I had to become a vampire to find the right woman,” he joked onstage, demonstrating the difficulties of modern love.

One of today’s most recognized guys in the world right now is Robert Pattinson which made an appearance at the 81st Academy Awards on Sunday, February 22, 2009 which was aired by ABC Network Live from Hollywood. What most people asked was: Why isn’t Kristen there with Robert? Well her dad commented that “she will present at the Oscars when she has done a great movie, not one that just sold a lot and made a lot of money”. You see last year’s Oscars were on of the lowest ratings the Oscar’s have ever had. So this year they brought people that are very recognized such as cast from High School Musical, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, which they even performed a song. What people forget about Awards such as Golden Globes, Emmy’s and..yes…The Oscars, is that even though it’s recognizing the best performance for that year and hard work from the production crew all the way to the post-production crew. It all comes down that it is a business and because it’s a business, it has to revenue. That is why a lot of actors which I don’t personally know Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson but you can tell that they don’t really like the whole PR part of the business. You see back 20 or 40 years ago, they were still movie stars but the people that were in it was because of their love towards performing not just for the money. Now of course you have to eat and sustain your self but you really don’t need 100 million in your account because you might not even use it all, now it’s good to have but not necessary. Actors like Kristen Stewart are the only reason why Showbiz is such a good business and that’s why a lot of her movies have had great performances made by her. Now, a lot of her movies have also been only to Festivals which stay within the industry but you realize that she really loves the industry and that’s very strange to find in a young actor as herself. I am not saying that Robert Pattinson or any of the other actors are in it for the money because come one it’s The Oscars but every person, and yes that’s including actors, has their own purpose in what they do, whether it’s entertaining people, trying to change their point of view, touch people in a unique way, the bottom line is that they all have their own purpose and their own goals and they work very very hard to get their and for that they deserve merits. Some actors don’t even want to be famous or an academy award actor. Like some would love to be in that position so please don’t judge any of the actors that participated at the Oscars or lack their of. Just accept the great performances such as Heath Ledger as The Joker.
Despite being offered a huge sum of money to come onboard, Catherine Hardwicke decided not to direct Twilight sequel New Moon. The director told Entertainment Weekly that she didn’t want to make the film under the deadline and budget restraints that would have been placed on her for the follow-up, reports the Associated Press. She recalls being at dinner with Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in Paris when she got the call from Summit Entertainment, which offered her “more money than I or anyone in my family has ever seen.” But, she added that with the payday came tight budget restraints and deadlines. “I was devastated,” said Hardwick, who will release her book “Twilight: Director’s Notebook” in March. “I really did feel a strong connection to the people around the world that liked the movie, and to Stephenie and the actors. When she declines an offer like directing New Moon for these reasons, you can really tell that she is in it for the right reasons, hence, a great movie like Twilight….

It’s unbelievable but Lucy Hale read for the part of Jane in New Moon from Summit Entertainment. The star that originally started in Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place, playing a guest star and then landed on the role on The CW’s Privileged, is now trying to also land on Twilight’s Sequel New Moon! Fanning and Hale have said that it is not confirmed yet who is being casted.
“Well, I did read [for the role of Jane]. We had some talks about it. But I think they just offered it to Dakota Fanning, the role I was interested in,” the teen told Twist magazine. “Which is great — I’m a huge fan of her! So I think she’ll probably take that. And I mean, as of right now, I’m not sure if it’s going to work out. But I’m definitely still going to see it!”
On the breakdowns (which specifies the character’s description on what the Casting Directors look for) it specified “petite blonde with a … Botticelli angel-like face … [and] crimson irises,” and unfortunately Lucy Hale does not fit into that description although she does fit the description for the role of Leah Clearwater.
“I’d take any role!” Hale told the magazine. “Leah Clearwater, but I think there’s already talks with somebody else. I think they’ve already offered it to someone. I mean, we’ll see. If not, it’s all good.” When they reminded her that Disney’s High School Musical’s lead actress, Vanessa Hudgen is also up for that part she said: “Right, right, right! Yeah, I wasn’t sure if that was true or not, but she’d be great for it!”

Although the production company is using most people from the last hit, Twilight, but Lana Veenker which was one of the Casting Directors for several productions including Twilight, said that they will not be even considering for extras unless you live in that area because they are trying to save money. Idk about that because when the movie came out back in November, Summit Entertainment was waiting to see how the opening weekend did at the box office. They said that if the movie revenued over 150 mil then they will consider doing New Moon but once they saw the number that finished at approx. 70 million in the opening weekend, I think they loved Warner Bros. for pushing back Harry Potter to July. Just to let you guys know, the movie has revenued an approximate 185 million in the US alone!!! And then add another 140 million worldwide!! Thats a an approximate of 325 million!!!!!!! Remember the productions budget for Twilight was only 37 million and they made an incredible movie. I cant wait to see how New Moon does in November 20, 2009 although the release date was made public before they even finished pre-production!!!!! Maybe Catherine Hardwicke was making a good point…who knows….let’s see what The Golden Compass and American Pie Director brings to the table he said “We are in a recession,” reminds one insider. “It’s a hit franchise. Robert Pattinson’s Twilight character, Edward, may remain a perpetual teenager – but the actor celebrated turning 23 on Wednesday. The star was joined by several of his New Moon castmates, including leading lady Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene and Jamie Campbell Bower at The Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar in Vancouver where they are filming. Pattinson and his pals were treated to champagne cocktails in the the V.I.P. section of the restaurant. They ordered rounds of shooters and feasted on Kobe beef meatballs, lamb, steak, salads and roasted vegetables. “Everyone enjoyed a hearty meal and had a good appetite,” said a source. But it’s wasn’t just a cozy night with friends. Pattison’s location was posted on Twitter, and soon hoards of fans descended on the restaurant trying to get pictures and autographs. “There was a lot of buzz and energy in the restaurant,” said the source. “Being in the same restaurant as Rob Pattinson for his birthday is great.” A fan told PEOPLE: “I was so happy to see Rob and help him celebrate his 23rd birthday.
